My Baptism Story

Steve and I found Anchor several years ago, when we literally had nowhere else to turn. I was a stay-at-home-mom, and he had lost his job. We had run out of our savings and couldn’t put food on the table. We started calling churches for a voucher to the food bank. Anchor was the only church that was willing to give us a voucher and ask for nothing prior to giving it, nor after us receiving it; that piqued our interest…so the following Sunday, we found ourselves at Anchor. That was just the beginning of our journey…
I have come to realize that Jesus is a driving force in my life, and that I want to live my life for him, by doing right by him. I want to be stronger in my convictions and show others the path to Salvation.
Getting baptized is an overt symbol of me, giving my life over to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Being baptized symbolizes a new beginning; the death of the old me, and the birth of the new and improved me. I am shedding my old ways of trying to control where my life is going and how I’m getting there. I am putting it all in His hands. I will follow Christ wherever and however he leads me. I know He will get me to where I need to be when I need to be there.
